Young branchlets and petioles glabrous. Leaf blade pubescent when young but abaxially glabrescent, sometimes with glandular pits in axils of lateral veins. Inflorescences slightly pubescent. Staminodes subulate to sometimes lanceolate-linear, inflexed, carinate. Fl. Oct-Feb.
Dense forests of valleys; 600--1000 m. S Yunnan [N Vietnam].
