Trees 7--20 m tall. Branchlets densely yellow stellate tomentose, sometimes glabrescent. Leaves alternate; petiole 5--8 mm; leaf blade oblong-ovate to oblong, 10--20 X 5.5--13 cm, papery, sparsely hirsute with simple and stellate hairs, base rounded, margin entire or serrate, apex acute to shortly acuminate, secondary veins 5--10 pairs, tertiary veins reticulate. Flowers unknown. Infructescences racemose, 3--5-fruited, ca. 1.8 X 1.2 cm, densely golden-yellow stellate tomentose to pubescent. Fruiting pedicel ca. 4 mm. Fruit ca. 6 mm in diam., with a persistent calyx, apex beaked. Fr. Jul.
* Forest ravines; ca. 1500 m. Yunnan (Pingbian Xian).
