Cymes axillary, 1-flowered; peduncle absent; bracts deciduous. Pedicel ca. 1 cm, glabrous. Calyx 5-sect from base; segments broadly lanceolate, ca. 5 X 2 mm, outside glandular puberulent. Corolla red, 1.8-2 cm, outside sparsely puberulent, inside with 5 tufts of hairs above base, mouth not oblique; limb indistinctly 2-lipped, lips nearly equal, ca. 2 mm. Stamens exserted. Pistil ca. 8 mm; ovary glabrous. Style ca. 5 mm, sparsely glandular puberulent. Capsule ca. 27 cm. Seeds with ca. 50 hairlike appendages at hilar end, ca. 1.3 cm, opposite end with 1 hairlike appendage ca. 2 cm. Fr. Mar.
