Stems 40-140 cm, glabrous. Leaves opposite; petiole 2-5 mm; leaf blade narrowly elliptic to narrowly ovate, 1.7-3 X 0.6-1.4 cm, thin leathery to papery, glabrous, adaxially drying smooth, abaxially punctate, base cuneate to broadly cuneate, margin entire, apex acute to acuminate; lateral veins invisible. Cymes axillary, 1-flowered; peduncle absent; bracts deciduous. Pedicel 4-7(-10) mm, glabrous. Calyx green, 5-sect from base; segments narrowly lanceolate to linear or narrowly triangular, 5-9 X 0.8-1.2 mm, outside glabrous. Corolla red, 3-3.7 cm, outside glabrous, inside sparsely puberulent basally, without tufts of hairs, mouth slightly oblique; limb indistinctly 2-lipped, lips nearly equal, 3-5 mm. Stamens exserted; filaments 2.3-3.1 cm; anthers coherent in pairs at apex, 2-3 mm; staminode ca. 1 mm. Pistil ca. 2.5 cm; ovary glabrous. Style ca. 9 mm, glabrous. Capsule 3-3.5 cm. Seeds unknown. Fl. Aug-Oct.

Rocks and trees in forests; 2200-2300 m. SW and W Yunnan [N Myanmar].
