Adenophora pubescens Hemsley.
Stems 70-150 cm tall, simple or with branches slender and upright, usually scaberulose, less often subglabrous. Lower cauline leaves petiolate, upper ones sessile; blade ovate-lanceolate to elliptic, 6-13 × 1.5-3 cm, both surfaces usually sparsely hispidulous, rarely almost glabrous, base attenuate, margin serrate, apex acuminate; petiole winged. Inflorescences with branches forming a panicle; inflorescence rachises, pedicels, and calyx rather densely puberulent or hispidulous, occasionally glabrous; pedicels short and stout, ca. 5 mm, or rarely elongate. Hypanthium obovoid or obconic; calyx lobes lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 5-8 × 1-2 mm, very rarely reflexed. Corolla blue-purple or purple, campanulate, ca. 17 mm; lobes deltoid, ca. 5 mm. Disk annular to shortly tubular, 0.5-1.5 mm, glabrous. Style 2-2.2 cm, obviously exserted. Fl. Sep.
