Plants ?annual, white hispid throughout. Rhizomes unknown. Stems erect, robust, ca. 60 cm tall. Basal leaves shortly petiolate, caducous, blade lanceolate; lower cauline leaves winged-petiolate, blade oblanceolate or linear-oblong; middle and upper cauline leaves sessile, blade lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, up to 9 × 1 cm, margin dentate. Flowers sessile, 2 to several in sessile capitula aggregated into a terminal involucrate compound capitulum; involucral bracts ovate-lanceolate to orbicular, forming a series continuous with upper cauline leaves, 1 or 2 in capitula with several flowers, but absent in capitula with only 2 flowers. Hypanthium obovoid or obconic; lobes ligulate, ca. 4 mm, apex obtuse. Corolla blue, tubular-campanulate, ca. 1.5 cm. Filaments ca. 3 mm; anthers ca. 4 mm. Style slightly longer than corolla. Fruit unknown. Fl. Jul.
