Herbs, perennial, erect, 50-70 cm tall. Stems with short or long branches above, striate, densely gray appressed hispidulous, glandular. Leaves: petiole 2-3 mm, blade abaxially pale, adaxially dark green, thickly papery; mid cauline oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, 5-10 × 1.5-2 cm, surfaces sparsely scabrous, densely glandular, lateral veins 5- or 6-paired, distinct abaxially, base cuneate, margin entire or rarely denticulate, apex acuminate, mucronulate; upper and on branches subsessile, small, ovate-lanceolate. Capitula solitary in leaf axils or 2-4 in racemose-corymbiform synflorescences; peduncles 4-8 mm, densely shortly appressed hairy; bracts 1 or 2(or 3), linear-lanceolate. Involucre cylindric or subcylindric, ca. 4 × 2-3 mm; phyllaries 4- or 5-seriate, scarious, outer ovate, 1-1.5 mm, slightly acute, inner oblong, 4-5 mm, obtuse, inconspicuously 1-veined, apex and margin puberulent. Ray florets 4, tube 2-2.5 mm, lamina fine, ca. 0.5 mm wide, shorter than style; disk florets 4, tube ca. 1.5 mm, glabrous, lobes linear-lanceolate, outer ca. 2 mm, inner 1-1.5 mm, apex puberulent. Achenes oblong, ca. 1 mm. Pappus ca. 4 mm. Fl. Jul-Dec.
