Pseudostems 1.3--1.6 m × 1.3--2.2 cm, base with purplish red sheaths. Leaf sheath conspicuously longitudinally striate; ligule 2-lobed, 1.2--1.5 cm; leaf blade lanceolate or lanceolate-elliptic, 30--40 × 6--7.5 cm, adaxially glabrous, abaxially sparsely hairy, midvein basally purplish red and enlarged, base cuneate or attenuate, apex acuminate or shortly so. Inflorescences arising from rhizomes, ellipsoid, 6--9 × 2.5--3.5 cm; peduncle 3--7 cm, scalelike sheaths deep red; bracts white with pale red base and apex, oblong to narrowly lanceolate, 3.4--4 × 0.8--2.1 cm; bracteoles 3--3.5 cm. Calyx white, 1.8--2 cm, apex entire. Corolla tube white, 3.5--4 cm; lobes yellowish, central one narrowly lanceolate, 2--2.2 cm × 6--8 mm, lateral ones narrower. Labellum white with yellowish margin, narrowly elliptic, 2.8--3 × 1.6--1.8 cm, apex entire; lateral lobes absent. Anther sessile, yellow, ca. 1.4 cm; connective appendage orange, ca. 8 mm. Ovary densely white pubescent. Fl. Jul.
