Plants perennial, 13--25 cm tall. Rhizome short. Stems terete, 0.9--1.3 mm in diam., striate. Leaves all basal; leaf sheath auricles usually obtuse, free portion 0.5--1 mm; leaf blade linear, channeled, 5--16 cm, apex with a callus. Inflorescences terminal; head solitary, hemispheric, 8--13-flowered; bracts 5--7, broadly ovate to broadly lanceolate, 5--15 × 2.5--4 mm, basal one 0.9--1.5 cm, equal or slightly longer than head, apex acuminate, others shorter than head. Perianth segments yellowish white, lanceolate, 5.7--7.5 × 1.4--1.6 mm, subequal or inner ones slightly longer than outer, apex acuminate. Filaments 4.2--4.5 mm; anthers 2.2--2.6 mm. Style 2.2--2.5 mm; stigmas 1.4--1.6 mm. Capsule (immature) trigonous ovoid, 1-loculed. Fl. Apr--Jul.
