Juncus subglobosus K. F. Wu, Acta Phytotax. Sin. 32: 451. 1994, not Moss ex Adamson (1935).

Plants annual, ca. 13 cm tall including inflorescence. Stems 2.5--3.5 cm, thin. Basal leaves linear, sometimes sheathlike. Cauline leaves with sheath auricles absent or inconspicuous; leaf blade ca. 3.5 × 0.8 mm, margin involute. Inflorescences 2/3--3/4 × plant height; branches few, ascending, usually weak; involucral bract 2.5--4.5 cm, often shorter than inflorescence. Flowers many, basally 2-bracteolate. Perianth segments lanceolate; outer segments 2.4--2.9 × ca. 1 mm, center green and thick, margin hyaline, apex acute; inner segments 2--2.2 × ca. 1 mm, margin broadly hyaline, apex acuminate. Stamens 6, ca. 1/2 as long as perianth; filaments ca. 0.8 mm; anthers 0.5--0.6 mm. Capsule trigonous subglobose, subequaling inner perianth segments, ca. 1.9 mm in diam., apex obtuse and very shortly mucronate. Seeds ovoid, ca. 0.3 mm, striate, base and apex acute. Fl. Jul, fr. Aug.

Juncus amuricus subsp. amuricus occurs in the Far East region of Russia.
