Herbs perennial, 4--13 cm tall. Stems densely caespitose, prostrate; branches ascending, glandular pubescent. Leaves fascicled, linear or subulate-linear, ± flat, 0.5--1.5 cm × ca. 1 mm, abaxially pubescent, 3-veined, base connate into a sheath, margin spiny ciliate, apex subacute, sometimes falcately curved. Flower solitary; pedicel 1.5--4.5 cm, densely glandular pubescent, 2-bracteolate. Sepals linear-oblong or ovate-lanceolate, 4--5 × ca. 1 mm, abaxially glandular pubescent, 3-veined, margin membranous, apex obtuse. Petals oblong or obovate-oblong, 7--9 mm, ca. 2 × as long as sepals, apex obtuse. Stamens 10, slightly longer than sepals. Ovary ovoid; styles 3. Capsule oblong, 8--10 mm, ca. 2 × as long as sepals. Seeds dark brown, subreniform, 1.5--1.7 mm, both surfaces rugose; raphe long fimbriate tuberculate. Fl. Jun--Aug, fr. Aug--Sep.
