Polygonum rude Meisner in Candolle, Prodr. 14(1): 137. 1856; Aconogonon molle (D. Don) H. Hara var. rude (Meisner) H. Hara; Persicaria rudis (Meisner) H. Gross; Polygonum deflexipilosum Kitamura; P. esquirolii H. Léveillé; P. paniculatum Blume var. rude (Meisner) Steward; P. tsangschangicum Lingelsheim & Borza.
Stems long hirsute with appressed, deflexed hairs. Leaves sericeous.
Slopes, forests, thickets in valleys; 1400-3500 m. Guangxi, Guizhou, Xizang, Yunnan [Bhutan, India (Assam), N Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand].
