Abaxial surface of calyx without needle-like prickles.
Dense forests in mountainous regions, river valleys, rocky slopes; 800--2800 m. Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Yunnan [Vietnam].
