疣白发藓

Plants medium-sized to large, up to 5 cm high, whitish to grayish green, in dense, compact tufts. Stems erect, simple or branched; central strand absent. Leaves erect-spreading, 5–8 mm long, lanceolate, gradually narrowed to channelled apices from broadly ovate to oblong-ovate base, acute at the apex; dorsal side of leaf acumina undulate and spinosely prorate; laminae bordered by 1 (–2) rows of narrowly rectangular cells, laminae near leaf base consisting of 5–6 rows of narrowly rectangular cells, basal marginal cells indistinct; costae in cross section consisting of a median layer of quadrangular chlorocysts with 1–3 layers of leucocysts on either sides. Dioicous. Sporophytes not seen. [According to Yamaguchi (1993), setae 2.5–3.2 cm long; capsules inclined, ovoid to ellipsoid, 1.6–1.8 mm long. Other sporophytic features were reported to be the same as those described under the generic description.]
