Plants medium-sized to large, up to 6 cm high, yellowish green or yellowish, shiny, in compact tufts. Stems erect, or ascending, simple or dichotomously branched, densely foliate, radiculose below. Leaves distinctly falcate-secund when dry, erect-patent when moist, lanceolate, up to 7 mm long, gradually narrowed from a lanceolate, somewhat clasping base to a long, slender, canaliculate acumen; margins plane and entire below, slightly incurved and serrulate above; costa slender to rather stout, percurrent to shortly excurrent, serrate at back above; upper cells irregular, quadrate, rounded triangular or short-rhomboidal, moderately thick-walled, papillose on the dorsal surface above; basal cells elongate, rectangular, thick-walled, hyaline, distinctly porose; alar cells quadrate, short-rectangular or hexagonal, inflated, 4–5 stratose, brownish at the margins, hyaline within. Dioicous. Male plants dwarfed. Perichaetial leaves highly sheathing at base, abruptly narrowed to a short, entire, subulate acumen. Setae solitary, straight, up to 1.5 cm long, reddish brown; capsules erect, cylindric, ca. 4 mm long, brownish; opercula erect, long-rostrate; annuli none; peristome teeth absent. Spores not seen.

Type. China: Sichuan (Setschwan), Mu-li Co., alt. 4300–4400 m, Handel-Mazzetti 7507 (holotype H).

Specimens examined: SICHUAN: Mu-li Co., C. Gao et al. 20738, 20905 (IFSBH); Tian-quan Co., Q.-Z. Zheng 89 (MO). XIZANG: Mi-lin Co., Y.-G. Su 5126 (KUN).

Habitat: on soil in apline bushlands; Distribution: endemic to China.
