Large perennial herbs. Leaves compound; leaflets doubly serrate, stipulate. Inflorescence a panicle. Sepals (4-) 5, imbricate. Petals (4-) 5 or absent. Stamens twice or equal to the number of sepals. Carpels 2; ovary bilocular, semi-inferior.
