Sparsely pubescent or glabrous herbs. Leaves alternate, simple, sharply dentate. Capitula heterogamous, disciform in axillary and terminal pedunculate corymbs. Receptacle epaleate. Anthers ecaudate, endothecial tissues radial. Stigmatic branches with obtuse sweeping hairs reaching below the furcation. Cypselas ellipsoid; pappus of uniseriate bristles, each bristle with adpressed teeth.
A monotypic genus, mainly distributed in Tropical Asia.
