Undershrub with slender bushy branches terminating in short, lax, usually bracteate racemes, glabrous, glaucous or rarely glandular. Leaves small, somewhat fleshy, shortly petioled or subsessile. Flowers minute. Sepals 4, free, narrowed at the base. Petals 4, shortly clawed. Androphore and gynophore indistinct or absent. Stamens 6, equal and not tetradynamous. Ovary more or less 4-winged, (wings almost disappearing in fruit), 1-loculed with 1-2 ovules; style elongated with capitate stigma. Fruit small, ellipsoid, indehiscent, subcoriaceous, 1-2 seeded, hardly winged; seeds not winged.

A monotypic genus with only one species in Egypt, Arabia, Sudan and W. Pakistan.
