Herbs with opposite leaves. Flowers sub-sessile, in axillary cymose clus¬ters. Petaloid staminodes many. Stamens 5-12. Stigmas 5. Capsule de¬hiscence 5-valved. Seeds reniform with a prominent strophiole.
A genus of 12 species; tropical and sub-tropical. Represented in W. Pakistan by 1 species only.
