Unarmed shrubs, scandent or climbing by means of tendrils. Leaves alternate, stipulate. Inflorescence of axillary, umbellate cymes, on long slender peduncles. Flowers greenish. Calyx 5-lobed, lobes lacerate, ovate, crenate or acuminate tube broadly obconical. Petals 5, inserted on margin of the epigynous disc, hooded. Ovary trilocular; style short, 3-fid; stigma more or less recurved. Fruit coriaceous, ovate to globose, with 3 cocci, each one-seeded.
A small genus with 6 species distributed in tropical South Africa, Arabia, India and Pakistan. Represented in Pakistan by one species.
