Bulb globose. Stem up to 50 cm tall. Leaves linear. Inflorescence of a few paniculate or umbellate clusters. Flowers bracteate, hermaphrodite. Perianth free or slightly united at the base, funnel-shaped. Capsule oblong to clavate, dehiscence loculicidal, many-seeded.

A genus of 3 species, 2 of which are found in Pakistan.

+ Plants up to 30 cm tall. Tepals c. 15 cm long, light-purple. Lower part of the filaments adnate to the perianth segments   Ixiolirion karateginum
