RUBINA AKHTER
Deciduous, erect shrubs or undershrubs. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, rounded at base, entire or irregularly dentate, membranous, pale green below. Flowers in whorls, sessile, bracts large foliaceous, sessile, connate at base. Calyx tube glandular, pubescent; lobes 5, unequal, persistent. Corolla funnel-shaped; lobes 5, subequal. Stamens 5, inserted on the throat of corolla tube; filaments short, equalling the corolla lobes. Ovary 5-Jocular; style filiform, stigma capitate. Berries globose to subglobose, many-seeded. Seeds minute, compressed.
A genus of about 6 species distributed from N. W. Himalaya to S. W. China. One species is found in Pakistan.
