Similar to Alyssum but hairs bipartite appressed; petals broadly obovate or suborbicular, shortly clawed; stamen filaments linear, not appendaged. Lateral nectar glands in pairs but short stalk-like, middle rudimentary; ovary 2-10-ovuled; siliculae suborbicular or ovate, compressed, bilocular, dehiscent with valves flat and with a distinct mid-vein; septum obscurely veined; seeds suborbicular with a narrow wing (margin) ; radicle accumbent.
About 5 species, mostly in the Mediterranean region; only 1 known from cultivation in our area.
