Erect leafless shrub. Flowers small, in pedunculate woolly cymes. Calyx lobes lanceolate, eglandular. Corolla salvershaped, lobes ± as long as the tube, valvate. Corona of 5 small erect scales inserted in the sinuses of the corolla lobes, sometimes with an inconspicuous fleshy ring below the anthers. Staminal column ovoid, anther tips without appendages, incumbent on the stigma. Pollen masses globose stipitate, erect. Stigma flat., 5-gonal, included. Follicles cylindrical. Seeds comose.
A genus with about 5 species, distributed in India and Africa. Represented in Pakistan by the following species:
