Perennial shrubs, with opposite terete, slender and scabrulous branches. Leaves linear, upper mostly involute; stipules polymorphic. Inflorescence terminal. Calyx pelviform; tube hairy, limbs reticulately veined, hispid pubescent, unequally 5-6-lobed, accrescent after anthesis. Corolla white, infundibuliform, 5-fid. Stamens inserted near the corolla throat anthers sessile. Style included; stigma bilobed. Fruit of 2 indehiscent cocci, with large orbicular and horizontal 5-6-lobed, membranous, reticulately veined wings.
A genus with one species, distributed from Arabia to Pakistan, through Iran and Afghanistan.
