Evergreen aromatic shrubs. Leaves sessile, oblong-linear, entire, coriaceous, clustered, ± revolute. Flowers borne in short axillary cymes in axils of upper leaves. Calyx bilobiate with an indumentums of small stellate-dendroid hairs; upper lip subentire with 3 very small apical teeth; lower lip 2-lobed. Corolla exserted, bilabiate; upper lip bifid; lower lip 3-lobed; tube internally without an annuals. Stemens 2, clearly exserted; thecae unilocular. Style very unequally bifid. Nutlets ovoid, smooth.
Two species in the Mediterranean region. A vary distinct genus of uncertain affinity. One species is occasionally cultivated in our area.
