Perennial herbs with tuberous roots. Stems slender, elongated, branched, glabrous; tendrils simple. Leaves subsessile, heteromorphic, cordate or sagittate at base, more or less scabrid above, margin remotely subulate denticulate, rarely entire. Petiole slender, without stipule-like lamina at the base, shortly villous, ultimately scabrous, 0-5-1.5 cm long. Male flowers subumbellate, axillary, female solitary and pedicellate. Calyx tube campanulate, teeth subulate, very minute. Corolla with triangular very small lobes. Stamens 3, filaments short; anther locule triplicate, ciliate. Ovary oblong, ovules several. Fruit oblong or ovoid. Seeds many, grey, small.
A monotypic genus distributed in India, Pakistan, Indo-China and Malay Archipelago.
