A rigid spinous shrub. Leaves exstipulate, simple, few, in sub-fascicles. Flowers bracteate, regular, in axillary fascicles. Sepals 4-5, free, imbricate, concave. Petals 4, free, without scales. Disc unilateral. Stamens 8, free, attached within the disc. Ovary 3-angled, 3-locular, 2 ovules in each locule. Fruit a membranous loculicidal capsule. Seed sub-globose, exarillate.

A monotypic genus found in Iran, Afghanistan and W. Pakistan.
