Small plant up to 10 cm tall, with woody stem; branchlets striate, smooth slender. Male strobili 2‑3 whorled ;flowers 4‑8; bracts orbicular, connate; staminate column exserted; anthers 5‑8; female strobili solitary; flowers 1‑2 ; tubillus ± 1.5 mm long, straight. Berry globose, red.
Type: Described from (Soviet) Central Asia.
Distribution: C. Asia, Pakistan.
