Branched annual with tufted growth, 7-10 cm high. Stems glandular-pilose to glabrous, slender and wiry. Leaves numerous, 5-6 mm long, alternate, sessile, linear-lanceolate, sparsely ciliate, surfaces usually glabrous, apex spinescent. Bulbils present in leaf axils. Flowers bright yellow, solitary, terminal. Sepals c. 3 mm long, ovate. Petals 7 mm long, ovate, base unguiculate. Styles slender, 3 mm long, divergent; stigma capitate.

Type: Nepal, Wallich.
Distribution: Alpine Western Himalayas, ranging from 3150-3700 m.
Found on rocks and in crevices in Hazara and Kashmir regions at c. 2700 m.
