Nepeta calaminthoides Benth.
Sturdy perennial. Stems quadrangular, 60-80 cm, branched above, pilose with short eglandular retrorse hairs, leafy. Leaves triangular-ovate, 20-70 x 20-40 mm, crenate-serrate, cordate or truncate, acute, greyish beneath with adpressed eglandular hairs and sessile oil globules; petiole 1-2 cm. Inflores-cence of numerous ± distant mostly pedunculate loosely condensed cymes forming panicles. Bracts linear-oblong, shorter than calyces. Pedicels c. 1 mm. Calyx grey-green, 5-6 mm, curved, somewhat oblique at throat, ± densely pubescent with sessile oil globules; teeth narrow triangular-acuminate, 2-3 mm, ciliate. Corolla white or cream with blue-violet spots, 6-8 mm; tube about as long as calyx teeth. Nutlets darkish brown, dull matt, c. 1.4 x 1 mm, with a straight lateral areole.
