Spiny shrub up to 130 cm tall. Young shoots yellowish-white. Leaves 8-40 x 2.5-12 (-18) mm, lanceolate to oblanceolate or narrowly ovate to elliptic-oblong. Flowers white, tinged purple. Calyx 2.5-3.5 mm long, ± campanulate; lobes broad, triangular-ovate. Corolla tube c. 10 mm long, infundibuliform, pubescent within; lobes 2.5-3 mm long, c. 1/3rd tube size. Filaments pubescent-villous at the base. Berry 3.5-4 mm broad, globose. Seeds c. 1.5 mm broad, subreniform, minutely reticulate, brown.

Type: S. Kazakhstan, Baneza-Kumy, Androssov 201 (LE).
Distribution: Iran, Afghanistan, Baluchistan (Pakistan), C. Asia, Songaria, W. China.
