Biennial or perennial, up to 25 cm tall, glandular-puberulous; scales ovate-acuminate. Spikes short, rather laxly flowered. Bracts lanceolate, c. half as long as the corolla-tube; bracteoles absent. Calyx 2-segmented, each segment subulate-lanceolate, not 2-fid (?), nearly as long as the bract. Corolla c. 25 mm long or a little longer, neither constricted in the middle nor inflated below it, almost straight; lobes crenate, glabrous, blue. Filaments and anthers glabrous.
Type: Karakorum, 9000 ft., parasitic on Artemisia sp., C.B. C.larke 30098 (K).
Distribution: Karakorum in Pakistan and Kashmir.
Differs from the following species by its longer, blue corolla.
