Leontopodium alpinum Cass. var. pusillum Beauv.
A small caespitose to procumbent herb. Stems 1-many, 1-3 (-5) cm long; stolons filiform, bearing remote scales. Leaves spathulate, usually covered with white tomentum, 7-9 x 2-4 mm. Capitula 1-3, heterogamous, ± 9 mm in diameter. Inflorescence bracts conspicuous, spathulate or linear spathulate, broader than the cauline leaves, white tomentose. Female florets c. 3.5 mm long, bisexual florets slightly smaller, c. 3 mm long. Cypselas ± 1.25 mm long, glabrous, pappus setae white, connate.

Type: Tibeticus Occidentalis: adnives supra sammon, August 15, 1905 Hedin (S).
A rare species in our area; Distribution: Kashmir, Xizang.
