Hordeum vulgare Linn., Sp. Pl. 1:84. 1753. Six-rowed barley. All the spikelets of each triad are fertile so that there are 6 longitudinal rows of fertile spikelets in each spike. It is grown in the plains and at up to 4700 m in Ladak.
