Panicum repens Linn., Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 1:87. 1762. was introduced to Pakistan as a fodder grass, but has apparently not persisted. One of the cited specimens (Karachi, Cooke (K) in Stewart’s Catalogue) has been traced but is a misidentification of Panicum antidotale. Panicum repens differs from Panicum paludosum by its firm rather than spongy stems and its narrower often involute leaf-blades. It is a plant common in the tropics and subtropics.
