Although some authors recognize "Plectranthus gerardianus" as a separate species and others recognize it as one of the varieties of Isodon lophanthoides (var. gerardianus (Benth.) Hara), our specimens (with the available material) all seem to be the same taxon. It is another species, like Isodon coetsa which reaches the westernmost extremity of its range in our area.
