Potamogeton rufescens Schrad.Potamogeton stylatus Hagstr.
Differs from Potamogeton nodosus by its sessile, oblanceolate to elliptic, submerged leaves, cuneate or semiamplexicaul at the base, apices rounded or obtuse. Lamina of petiolate floating leaves 7-9 cm long, c. 1.8 cm broad, 7-many-nerved, cuneate at the base, obtuse or rounded at the apex, with entire margins. Fruitlets 2.5-3 mm long.
Type: Described from Italy.
Distribution: Temperate and arctic regions of Asia, Europe and N. America.
