Annual, up to 20 cm. Stem ascending, thin, branches slender, ascending to spreading, often longer than the stem. Cauline leaves petiolate, petiole up to 1.5 cm, blade often broader than long, 1.5 x 2 cm, broadly triangular, hastate, subcordate to broadly cuneate at base, basal lobes often with a lobe-like teeth, middle-lobe entire. Blade of upper cauline leaves often narrower, hastate to the apex, truncate at base. Inflorescence leafy to the apex; glomerules sessile to subsessile, 2-4 mm in diameter. Perianth-lobes 4-5, herbaceous, not succulent. Seeds 0.8-1.0 x 0.7-0.8 mm, elliptic (length to width ratio 1.5-1.2), blackish brown, strongly emarginate.
