Annual or short-lived perennial, 10-30 (-50) cm, ± succulent, branched from base. Leaves linear-filiform to triangular-subulate, 4-10 mm long, recurved, greyish-green, decurrent, spine white, densely woolly in axils. Flowers 1-8, in axils of leaf-like bracts, engulfed in white hairs. Perianth 1-3 mm long, 5; segments ± spatulate-oblong, lobes free. Filaments fused into a tube; stamens 5. Fruiting perianth 2-3 mm; seeds 1.5 mm diam., compressed, rounded.

Distribution: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
