Anaphalis nepalensis var. nepalensis (C. B. Clarke) Ridley

    Plants 10-50 cm long. Lower leaves usually spathulate to obovate, petiolate. Capitula 5-15.

    Fl. Per.: June-September.

    Type: Himalayan mountains (P).

    Fairly common taxon, grows in shade, near the streams, among rocks and alpine meadows from 2200-4500 m; Distribution: Temperate and Alpine Himalayas, also in Karakorum ranges, Sikkim, Bhutan.

    Highly variable especially the size and shape of the basal leaves which vary from broadly linear-spathulate, obovate, so is the case with petiole varying from 1-3 cm long to almost absent.
