Scurrula pulverulenta (Wall.) G. Don
A shrub. Young shoots and leaves covered with a white woolly, fugacious tomentum, gradually becoming glabrous. Leaves exstipulate, opposite, 7-12 cm long, ovate-oblong, entire, sub-acute, glabrous; base attenuate; petiole c. 1.5 cm long. Flower curved, 1.5-2 cm long, in axillary, tomentose racemes; buds sub-acute; pedicel 4 mm long, tomentose, bract 1.5 mm long, pubescent. Calyculus 3 mm long, pubescent, entire. Corolla-tube 1.5 cm long, tomentose outside; lobes 4, 1 cm long, linear, acute, outer surface pubescent. Stamens 4, filaments crimson, 5 mm long; anthers 2 mm long, ellipsoid. Style c. 2 cm long, slender, curved; stigma 1 mm long, sub-globose. Fruit c. 6 mm long, clavate, pubescent, 1-seeded.

Type: Described from “Nepal, on trees at Hetounra and along the banks of the Rapti”.
Distribution: Upper Burma and sub-Himalayan range up to 1000 m. alt. s.m.
Reported from Mirpur, Azad Kashmir by Lambert. Parasitic on Mallotus philippinensis Muell. Arg. and Dalbergia sissoo Roxb.
