Saxifraga hirculoides Decne.
Erect herb, 4-18 cm tall. Stem densely brown-villous. Basal leaves 7-10 mm long, broadly oblanceolate, base sheathing, cauline leaves sessile, elliptic, brown-villous at the base. Flowers 1-2(-3). Pedicels densely brown-villous at the base. Flowers 1-2(-3). Sepals 3-4 mm long, ovate, obtuse, brown-villous. Petals yellow, equalling or shorter than the sepals, margin sometimes sparsely brown-villous at the apex. Styles c. 1 mm long.

Type: Kashmir, Jacquemont.
Distribution: W. Himalayas, W. Tibet.
Differs from the other 2 varieties found in Pakistan in its densely brown-villous stems and in the petals being as long as or shorter than the sepals. Found here at an alt. of c. 4700 m in Upper Kaghan and Karakorum in Baltistan.
