Shrub. Leaves 10-22 x 4-7 cm, elliptic or lanceolate, margins undulate, acute or acuminate; petiole 0.5-1.5 cm. Inflorescence 10-20 cm long and broad, pedunculate, bracteate corymbs or panicles. Flowers white, sweet scented, pedicel c. 1.5 mm long; bracts and bracteoles persistent. Calyx-lobes short, equalling the hypanthium, less than 1 mm, acute. Corolla-tube 6-8 mm long; lobes 4-5 mm long, reflexed, oblong-linear, obtuse, throat naked. Stamens 4; filaments c. 1 mm long, anthers 3-3.5 mm long. Style exserted, Stigma 2-partite.

Type: Described from Bengal, Roxburgh, Ic. ined. 913. (K).
Distribution: Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Bangla Dash, India (Assam). In Pakistan occasionally cultivated.
