Poa pratensis subsp. pratensis
Plant green, loosely tufted; culms (15-)20-50(-90)cm high; leaf-blades flat or folded, 3-30cm long, 2-4(-6)mm wide, usually much shorter than the culms; ligule usually decurrent on the sheath margins; spikelets 4-6mm long; lemmas 3-4mm long.
Fl. & Fr. Per.: July-August.
Type locality: Europe.
Distribution: Pakistan (Baluchistan, Punjab, N.W.F.P., Gilgit & Kashmir); throughout temperate regions of the Old World.
Smooth Meadow-grass is a very common species of old meadows and pastures where it affords excellent grazing and makes good hay. 1500-4700m.
