Evax arenaria Smoljan.
Loosely tomentose annuals, usually much-branched with very short primary stem and numerous prostrate branches often branched once more. Most leaves congested below the glomerules, oblong-spathulate, 1-2 mm broad, the upper longer than the glomerules. Capitula 5-10 per glomerule. Involucre c. 5 mm long; phyllaries c. 25, lanceolate, membranaceous, greenish with paler margins, loosely tomentose on back, outer and median apiculate with a very short tip (0.3-0.5 mm), the inner ones blunt, distinctly shorter; phyllaries at flowering time scarcely divergent, brownish, caducous. Outer filiform female florets in the axils of the phyllaries, in the center 4-5 sterile (pseudo-) bisexual florets, c. 1.5 mm long. Cypselas 1-1.2 mm long, without pappus.
