Differs from the type variety by having numerous, slender branches, leaves ± woolly to cottony on both the surfaces.

Type: Described from Kumaon and Sirampur, Wallich (K-W).
Grows between 3000-4000 m, on boulders, among crevices and slopes; Distribution: Kashmir, alpine Himalayas, India.
