A divaricately branched shrub with pale brown, terete branches. Leaves glabrous below and glandular viscid above, 1.25-2.5 x 0.8.-1.0 cm, with linear lobes or sometimes toothed. Capitula campanulate, solitary or subsolitary on long, thick stalks; phyllaries multiseriate, outer linear-lanceolate, inner linear, glandular-puberulous, ± ciliate. Cypselas shortly pilose, not compressed; pappus setae 8-10.
