Loosely to densely pulvinate shrub; branches long, slender. Leaves linear-triquetrous, acerose, slightly puberulent. Scape slender, branched, twice as long as the leaves. Spikelets l-6, arranged in imbricate spikes. Bracts oblong-elliptic, hyaline-margined, much shorter than the calyx. Calyx narrowly funnel-shaped; limb white with reddish nerves.

Type: Afghanistan, Kurram Valley; Drekalla Aitchison (K).
Distribution: Restricted to W. Pakistan and Afghanistan in the mountainous zone.
