Barbaraea plantaginea DC., Syst. Nat. 2:208. 1821. Boiss., l.c. 183; Blatter & Hallb. in Journ. Ind. Bot. 1:55.1919; Busch in Kom., l.c. 134; Goode & Cullen in Davis, l.c. 437; Hedge in Rech. f., l.c. 199.
Sisymbrium barbaraea Linn.
Similar to the previous species but radical leaves with 0-1 lateral lobes and the terminal lobe ± narrowed at base. Siliquae usually 30-45 mm long.
Type: Orient, Tournefort (BM).
Distiribution: S.W. Asia to Afghanistan.
There is every possibility of its occurrence in our area but I have not seen any authentic specimen from here. Some forms of B. vulgaris, with terminal lobes narrowed below have often been misidentified as this species, but lateral lobes and fruit size are distinctive.
